Mirpur Azad Kashmir: Accused Imran Files Contempt of Court Petition Against Police Officers

Inspector Imran Ahmed has filed a contempt of court petition in the District Criminal Court of Mirpur, Azad Kashmir, against SHO Thothal, SSP Mirpur, and DIG Mirpur.

According to the petition, Inspector Imran Ahmed claims that a baseless FIR was registered against him on February 25, 2025, under sections 342, 506, 509 APC, and ZHA-18. The petitioner states that despite obtaining pre-arrest bail from the court, he was arrested, which is a serious violation of judicial orders.

The petition further states that section ZHA-18 was maliciously included in the original FIR. When the court granted pre-arrest bail on February 26, 2025, he was still arrested with the addition of section 354 APC, even though the next hearing was scheduled for March 4, 2025.

The petitioner argues that this action is a blatant violation of judicial orders and, therefore, requests the court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the concerned police officers.
