Selected journalists will get a chance to attend and cover the 3rd Fully Funded UN Ocean Conference in France which is offered by Internews’ Earth Journalism Network. Journalists who are working on any media platform can apply including online, print, television, and radio. They may be employed by commercial, national, local, or worldwide media companies.

Before the UN global conference will start, participants will get informational resources and technical support so they can be prepared for reporting at the conference. During this fully funded conference in France, fellows will get a chance to take part in various activities and events. Regarding the important topics of this conference, there will be an introductory session with seasoned specialists from the ocean. Media trainers of EJN will lead daily briefings.

The United Nations conference will provide useful information about climate and environmental threats to the ocean and the steps needed to preserve the aquatic environment. During this Internship for international journalists, fellows will interact with their colleagues and share their ideas about successful reporting. They will get feedback and suggestions on their content from EJN’s media trainer.

Eligibility Criteria for UN Ocean Conference in France:

  • Applicants should be professional journalists who are working in a renowned media house.
  • Applicants should have previously reported on ocean related problems.
  • The country they are reporting from should have a coast.
  • Journalists should mention the type of tales and stories they will report on during the conference.
  • Applicants should have provided innovative and practical ways to preserve the ocean from threats.
  • Applicants should be fully available from 7th June- 14th June for the conference.
  • Participants should have proficiency in the English language.
  • Journalists who have already attended UNOC are not eligible to apply.
  • Plagiarized application content will be disqualified.
